How to Deal with Stage Fright for a Guitar Player

Every musician I know has some form of stage fright but I’m going to look at it from a guitar players view and give you 5 simple tips to help you deal with your anxiety and stress before and during a gig.

  1. Practice your material.
  2. Don’t make eye contact with the audience/people in the room.
  3. Close your eyes and listen/concentrate on the music.
  4. Try to move around and play to the other band members.
  5. Imagine yourself playing the gig or picture yourself on stage a few nights before.
